Ethereum: Segwit transaction from mixed addresses (segwit and non-segwit)

Partially separate events: Review of Ethereum’s SEGWIT

Ethereum, like other blockchain networks, was criticized for his support for partially separate events (PST). As a result of a hard fork between Ethereum Classic and Ethereum, a protocol, introduced, fought on more than one UTXO address. However, some users have found ways to bypass this restriction, though restrictions.

Ethereum: Segwit transaction from mixed addresses (segwit and non-segwit)

Exclaimed transactions allow separate UTXO (unused transaction exits) to join the same departure. This is unlike the separate addresses used to determine the address of the address, where the funds are arranged between different blocks of chains or wallets.

In the current implementation of the Ethereum, UTXO SEGWIT addresses and non-segwit addresses can be present at the same time in the same wallet, but they cannot be mixed together. If you have both segwit and non-segwit utxos, only one of them is considered qualified for expenditures.

Bitcoin Core v0.15 wallets: story with Bitcoin -had

In terms of Bitcoin wallets (BCH), some found ways to bypass the Ethereum segregation border. Segwit coins with coins can be used with BCH, and the user may distinguish between Segwit and Non-Segwit UTXOS.

Here are some examples:

  • In 2017, one user tried to use a Bitcoin Cash wallet in the Ethereum node to receive the events based on Segwit from the Ethereum address.

  • Another user has announced that they have discovered that their Bitcoin wallet can only accept Segwit-Tutxos from another wallet.

  • However, it should be noted that these solutions are not limitations. However, the user must ensure that the non-Segwit Utxo is used or included in a valid event.

Partially separate events: complex question

Although some users have found ways to bypass the Ethereum segregation limit with a BTC wallet, partially separate events (PST) in Ethereum are not currently supported. PST -Outs include one UTXO distribution between two different addresses. PSTs with Bitcoin are possible because the separate network addresses were used.

The lack of partially separate transactions in Ethereum is generally due to the complexity and technical challenges associated with the achievement of this feature. Current implementation requires significant changes to the underlying protocol, including:

  • Review of logic for storage and check UTXO

  • Introducing new types of addresses to adjust PST

  • Upgrade software for a wallet to solve additional logic

Conclusion

Although partially separated events are not currently supported in Ethereum, some users have found ways to limit it with Bitcoin cash packages. However, it requires carefully treatment and segwit and non -segwit utxos.

As the ecosystem continues to develop, we will probably see improvements to support partially segmented events in Ethereum. Until then, users of BCH wallet may need to consider alternative solutions or wait for a future update to support PST.
